when you look at the future, what do you see?
when i look at the future, do you see what i see?

your whole life and most of mine have always been entwined,
but truly, how much of each other do we know?

you seek the shiny things in life,
while i seek those that will sparkle only in the dark.

you see the beauty in things,
i only see the darkness of their hearts.

you change for the sake of others,
i change for the sake of the self.

you see little happiness around you,
i stopped searching for happiness a long time ago.

maybe one day, someone will take me out from my dark cloud and show me where i've been hiding my silver lining all along.
