floating thoughts

it's been a while since i really actually sat down and did some thinking. been avoiding thinking actually but it's time to do so, cos' work is still to be done and essays do not write themselves.

so here are a few stuff i have been thinking about. some totally material, some with actual depth (or at least i hope it to be).

home
i used to constantly be unsettled on where to call home. people who know, know i don't really love melbourne as many others have come to do so. somehow, when i touched down, and finally arrived back in my apartment, i thought to myself "it's good to be home". i guess that was when it really hit me, that i do consider melbourne my home. why does the word home have so much meaning and connotations to me, maybe when one day when someone else is in a similar position as i am, then they will really get why it means so much.

as i left changi airport, or days before doing so, friends kept asking, so are you sad to leave, knowing that after this time round, you'd never know when you'd be back, will you cry? when i stepped through the customs having gotten my passport stamped/scanned, i wasn't sad nor upset knowing that it really is a one way ticket for me. it was just any other normal thing for me. as i have said to my friends, let's be global people shall we. we shall have global meeting places. cos' there really is no point in constantly flying back to sg. maybe i really want people to miss me. haha. the very most i'd miss is food, but hey, if i go hk/jp, i'd still get good asian food. so people, remember, let's meet outside of singapore.

i think i might be sad when i have to start packing stuff for selling and moving to sydney. all these years of living alone, though weren't my happiest, but it's an experience all the same. and with these two years with me, i'd have to say i did experience the most on my own, totally out of my comfort zone. flying by myself, doing touristy stuff, living on my own, having to experience all kinds of flight related problems. one, flying all around australia without knowing beforehand (read: sin-darwin-ade-mel). two, missing luggage. three, waiting for connecting flight for hours while trying not to fall asleep just in case i get mugged. four, (the most recent to date) plane generator had a problem, so i actually turned back to singapore, departing only at 0030 that night. my original departure time was 1945.

anyhoos, i guess i have two homes now. singapore + australia. who knows, hopefully i'd have more homes to come.

this is specially for my bro:
eh... there's legend of zelda on ds already. HOW? HOW? but maybe it's a good thing you couldn't buy for when i was back. if not, i'd be totally distracted man, but exams end on 9 nov.. maybe i should just buy the ds here ah.. i cannot wait already leh.

it's gonna be less than 3 weeks before you fly. make most of it yeap? actually i know you will lah. don't be too sad. we will meet up soon and then we can go party. i need a clubbing kaki man.

for strangers/people who do not have me on friendster or facebook:
here's a new me.
i love what photoshop can do for one. ha.
