American vs Australian

as usual, i'm supposed to be studying, and i have to say, according to the "timetable" i set out for myself, i'm kinda like 2 days before. haha.. hope i'll catch up by tonight. i feel studious. of course not now lah, later..

anyway, i've been noticing a commonality these few days.. i've been told i speak a lil of american english.. eh? i sound american meh? if you think about it, technically singapore was a british colony, i am supposed to sound british right, k, maybe somewhere nearer, the aussies were colonised by them too.. so wouldn't i then be speaking or sounding like i have an aussie accent. i mean i've been speaking like that for a damn long time already lah.. just that in front of them i make a conscious effort not to say lah, lor you know what else lah.. cos i would simply get stares from them.. and when i speak to them and they find out i'm singaporean, they say i don't have a singaporean accent.. and i got a huge gasp when i said english was my FIRST language. si mi tai ji, wah buay sai kong engerish ah.. siao eh..

oooi, like that, what they want me to do.. and when i say, i do speak the 'singaporean accent' it's just weird cos then it seems its forced or something. it's just a choice what and having a common base with MY people what.. crime meh? haha.. i sound so singaporean in this entry. what the hell. maybe it's cos i just listened to mr. miyagi and mr. brown's podcast about ex-NS-peng.. remember the days when your parents tell you about hokkien-peng. so hilarious..

so back to the topic.. i wanna ask,
